We had your favorite milk-based espresso drinks in mind when we crafted Milky Hugs. This is the same blend as our Crema Dreams, but roasted slightly longer to allow the flavor to punch through a milky beverage. The longer roasting process results in delicious flavors of chocolate, cloves, and brown sugar. It's the perfect roast for those who prefer a macchiato, cappuccino, or latte.

Espresso Shot Guide

We think Milky Hugs performs best as a "Ristretto" or a "Normale."

Ristretto

  • For a double shot, measure 18 grams of coffee beans and grind in your preferred espresso grinder
  • Aim for an output of 27 grams in 24-26 seconds
  • If espresso comes out too slow, grind COARSER; if too fast, grind FINER

Normale

  • For a double shot, measure 18 grams of coffee beans and grind in your preferred espresso grinder
  • Aim for an output of 36 grams in 28-32 seconds
  • If espresso comes out too slow, grind COARSER; if too fast, grind FINER

Delicious and crowd-pleasing!

Milky Hugs is a great roast! Typically we’re throwing out the first couple of shots of new espresso as we work to calibrate the machine to them, but in spite of the pressure being a bit too high on the first pull (pictured), the shot was delicious! No tossing of precious fuel necessary!
